Manchester International Airport is the most convenient UK entry point for Bangor.
You can get a ticket to Bangor from the Airport Train Station, however, there is no direct train. You will have to change trains so please ask a member of staff in the ticket office for the best itinerary for the day. You shouldn’t have to change trains more than twice and the total journey time is approximately 2.5-3 h.
From the airport, you can also hire a car from one of several companies such as Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and Avis. Please check the specific rental services at your terminal for more information. The total journey time is approximately 1.5 h.
From Liverpool Airport
Take the shuttle bus from the airport to Liverpool city centre, departing approximately every 15-30 min. Go to Liverpool Lime Street train station. From London
You can either travel by Train or by car from London Airports.
By train from London:
From these London Airports - Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted, aim to reach Euston Train Station, as detailed in the headings below. From London Luton Airport, it will be better if you aim for Milton Keynes Train Station, as explained below.
From Euston Train Station to Bangor, you can either catch:
- A direct train for Holyhead - North Wales, which makes a stop at Bangor so you will not need to change trains at all during this journey. The journey will take around 3.5 h from Euston Train station.
OR - Can travel to Crewe train station first, and then change to another train destined for Holyhead-North Wales, which will make a stop at Bangor. The journey to Bangor will take around 1.5 h from Crewe Train station.
1. From Heathrow International Airport to Euston Train station:
From the airport, you can take either the underground train network/tube (as it's usually called) or take a coach.
On the tube, take the Piccadilly line from Heathrow tube station. Change at Leicester Square tube station and take the Northern Line to Euston Station.
By Coach, take the A2 Airbus coach service from Heathrow airport to Euston train station. If you have a lot of luggage, you are advised to take the A2 Airbus as it will take you directly to Euston Station.
2. From Gatwick International Airport to Euston Train Station (and then to Bangor):
Take a train direct to London Victoria Station, then take the Victoria Line on the Underground train network or tube (as it's usually called), direct to London Euston.
3. From Stansted Airport to Euston Train Station:
Take the train from Stansted Airport station to Tottenham Hale station. On the tube, take the Victoria line from Tottenham Hale to Euston Station.
4. From Luton Airport to Milton Keynes Train Station:
At Luton Airport, catch a bus to Milton Keynes Central train station. At Milton Keynes Central, you may be fortunate in catching one of the two daily direct trains from London to Holyhead-North Wales which makes a stop at Bangor.

The Eurostar terminates at London Waterloo Station. On the Underground train network or tube (as it's usually called), take the Northern Line from Waterloo tube station direct to Euston Station.
